STAGE 1
Llangollen to Llyn Brenig
Starting in the town of Llangollen, known for the International Musical Eisteddfod, wind your way West along the A5 driving past farmhouses, through forests and spotting cows and sheep grazing in the countryside. Turn right towards Llyn Brenig, a reservoir surrounded by forested moorland.
You may be familiar with parts of this stretch as super car magazine EVO use it as a test route.

Enjoy a winding road through forests and farmland.
STAGE 2
Llyn Brenig to Betws y Coed
This time drive downhill back towards the A5, turning right to re-join the A5 towards Betws-y-Coed.
You will notice the countryside becoming more rugged as you start to approach the gateway to Eryri National Park. Enjoy the many bends and take a break at the Conwy Falls Cafe if you want to stretch your legs with a walk to Conwy Falls.

Enjoy the scenery changing as you approach the Eryri National Park.
STAGE 3
Betws y Coed to Llanrwst and back
Turn right onto the A470 towards Llanrwst, a short but scenic detour through forests set in the Conway valley.
As you appraoch Llanrwst you will see Tu Hwnt i'r Bont Tearoom on the West bank of River Conway. Drive over Pont Fawr Bridge, a three arched bridge built in 1636. From here return back towards Betws Y Coed.

Take a break and enjoy the Tu Hwnt i'r Bont Tearoom in Llanrwst on the banks of the River Conway.
STAGE 4
Betws y Coed to Llanberis
Betws Y Coed is the gateway to Eryri National Park and boasts many outdoors shops or restaurants, inns and cafes for you to fill up at or stay the night.
Head West along the A5 passing through Capel Curig, Plas Y Brenin. Turn right on the A4086 towards Caernarfon and experience The Pass of Llanberis with steep winding roads and the highest car park for Yr Wyddfa, Pen Y Pass.
The countryside and roads become more rugged
The road up to Pen Y Pass and then down to Llanberis is a drivers delight.
STAGE 5
Llanberis to Pen Y Gwryd
For something a bit more historical you can keep heading West to Caernarfon Castle, recognised around the world as one of the greatest buildings of the Middle Ages.
Continue to Beddgelert, the picturesque stone-built village. The ideal base for exploring all the classic sights and beauty spots. A short walk south of the village, leads to Beddgelert's most famous feature; "Gelert's Grave".
